Prince Fielder Swing The Prince Fielder swing. Prince's mechanics are excellent. His head is down at contact, arms are extended and he drives through the baseball. He doesn't have a smooth, compact swing though. His swing is hard and a violent upper cut. His front foot is also closed at contact, which prevents his hips from opening too soon. Prince Fielder is a big, strong man and swings like one. He is primarily a pull hitter and has belted some of the longest home runs ever. He has some movement in his stance but very little of his weight goes front during his swing. It stays back like most power hitters.
