Ted Williams Art 2

This Drawing Has Been Sold

Ted Williams played 19 seasons with the Boston Red Sox. His .344 lifetime batting average is seventh all time. Teddy Ball Game was a six time batting champ and four time home run leader.

Ted and Rogers Hornsby are the only two players to win the Triple Crown twice. Williams did it in 1942 and 1947. Ironically he didn't win the MVP award in either year.

The Splendid Splinter did win the American League Most Valuable Player Award in 1946 and 1949.

His .634 Slugging Percentage puts him second all time along with 521 home runs which puts him 18th.

Ted was the last player to hit over .400 when he batted .406 in 1941. He is also number one in on base percentage(.482).

Ted missed almost six years to his military service.

Ted was voted the 1941, 1942, 1947, 1949 and 1957 Major League Player Of The Year.

The Greatest Hitter That Ever Lived was inducted into Baseball's Hall Of Fame in 1966.
