Baseball's great moments come up almost each time we are talking baseball. We identify with them.
I mean, I can remember exactly where I was when Kirk Gibson hit his 1988
World Series homer in game one when he couldn't even walk.
And Jack Buck's immortal call of "I can't believe what I just
saw!", gives me goose bumps.
If you're as old as I am, you can remember what it was like when the 1969
New York Mets did the impossible and beat the Baltimore Orioles in
five games.
Can you imagine what it must have been like to be there when Bobby Thompson hit the Shot Heard 'Round The World?
This is my list of Baseball's Great Moments. In 1999, Dave Kindred of
the Sporting News wrote his list. Some of mine are the same, but
others were added that I think he missed. I'm sure you can think of many
that I've missed, too.
They are written in no particular
order. I didn't want to list them in order of importance because how
can you?
