Barry Bonds Swing The classic barry Bonds swing might be the best swing in baseball history. Bonds had a short, compact swing and never moved his head. In fact his head position throughout his swing was perfect. He kept his weight back better than any hitter I've ever seen and hit against that solid front leg. Unlike most power hitters, Barry choked up on the bat, but still generated enormous bat speed. He stood close to the plate in an effort to pull the ball. His arms are extended out in front as he "turned on the ball". We all know about his alleged use of steroids. But I think Barry Bonds was right there with Ted Williams as the greatest hitter of all time.
