Albert Pujols Swing

The Albert Pujols swing is as good as it gets. This powerful hitter has won just about every hitting award possible so far.

Albert loads up his weight on his back leg in his stance and keeps it there throughout his swing. As he strides, his front knee and toe are "cocked" which keeps his hips closed until he actually swings.

Albert has tremendous arm extension and plate coverage. He's a big man and his enormous strength helps for sure, but his mechanics are excellent and that's what makes him the Most Feared Hitter In Baseball Today as voted on by 30 Major League managers in 2008.

Pujols has a little rhythm thing going with his hands as he waits for the pitch, but his head stays level and still during his swing.
