Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Harvey Haddix pitches 12 perfect innings, but loses 1-0 to the Braves in the 13th inning.
After an error, a sacrifice and a walk, the Braves' Joe Adcock then homered over the bull pen for the Braves only hit to drive in the winning run. Adcock passed Hank Aaron on the bases and was called out. He was awarded a double instead of a home run.
