Switch Hitter

Hey Dave. Just thought this was interesting.

This is Aaron Hicks. Switch hitter for the Yankees.

I saw this and thought it was interesting so I looked into Hicks.

Here are his stances from both sides. Two completely different approaches.

I couldn't find out if Hicks is a natural left or right hitter. But he's listed as a right handed thrower. So I'm assuming he's right handed.

I don't know how unusual it is for a right hander to be left eye dominant, but by looking at his stances I would think he probably is left eye dominant.

He's much more open in his left side stance which I would think allows him to see the ball better with his left(back) eye.

The interesting thing is that last season, Hicks decided to give up switch hitting and only hit right handed. The reason was because he pretty much sucked from the left side and he said he sees the ball so much better from the right side.
